Do you feel any difference of life quality when you leave the city, turn off your smartphone, your ear-pods, stay in a place without Wi-Fi and best even without cellphone reception? Many people feel a great difference. For a growing number of people living or at least sleeping in such a place has become essential for well-being and survival. What Electromagnetic-Radiation-Syndrome is, how it feels and affects your life and how it is being addressed in the public is what Jeanne Laurent from France is an expert on. She shares her personal experiences and knowledge with us in this interview. [continue reading]
The Ignored Hazard: Jeanne Laurent‘s Story with Wireless Radiation

Interviewer: Nowadays, wireless technology is being incorporated into more and more devices. Governments around the world are expanding 5G networks and the whole load of the wireless radiation, also called EMFs or electromagnetic fields, is increasing on the entire population. But why hasn't there been informed consent with the population. And I believe most people don't know about the countless studies that have shown that this radiation has health hazards and poses great risks to biology as whole. So I'm very happy to be joined by an expert on the subject, Jeanne from France, who has been experiencing wireless radiation on her own body and is also publicly educating about the subject. So I'm very happy to have you on today, Jeanne. Thanks for joining us. Jeanne Laurent: Thank you, Daniel, for your invitation. Interviewer: Well, thanks for coming on. It's a great honor to have somebody who is affected personally. And so my first question to you would be, can you tell us a bit about your personal story with this wireless radiation, with the EMFs? Jeanne Laurent: Yes, sure. and I could say that I grew electro-hypersensitive dramatically in 2018. This happened specially after being caught in the field of between an antenna and a mobile phone. We call it azimuth in French. And that was like a shock on my body. And I got a collapse of my immune system at this time. That was the switching point for my health. But I should say that this um sensitivity to EMF started much longer before. As far as I can rewind time, and I catch it in the year 2000. and At that time, I used to live in a collective, an artist, and we were sharing atelier and living place. And everyone there except myself had a mobile phone. And I started to grow some symptoms that I could not recognize, and identify, like headaches, trouble for sleep, a dizziness. Our place was in the basement in the first floor, „rez-de-chaussée“ in French. And the telephones, I could understand this afterwards, were all searching for net connections. Interviewer: Right. Jeanne Laurent: And at this time, I didn't want any mobile phone in my life, but I was living with ah six mobile phones without understanding and knowing the problem. Then it happened that in 2002, I went to a Paris conference at UNESCO, where I could listen to scientists scientists from all over the world, including French professor Dr. Dominique Belpomme, who's one of the specialists in our country on the subject for EMF. And in that time I could hear this call de Paris, Appel de Paris, the call from the scientists in 2002, warning the people about mobile phones, issues for health. And so I had this call. I didn't have a mobile phone. I went to this conference and I had left the big city of Paris in those years, living in another town and then at the countryside. And what happened is that I happened for work to be given a mobile phone for this work job. And it came like this in my life. And I started to get some problems like, ah we call it burnout in French, in English as well. Interviewer: Yeah, it's the same word. Yeah, it's burnout. Jeanne Laurent: And I happened to go with burnout without understanding. Why this? Where does it come come from? And i even if I had seen and listened to this call in UNESCO, I could not put it together. Jeanne Laurent: I put it on my stress in professional life. I was traveling quite a lot. then traveling in trains and you imagine in trains with all the mobile phones. At that time, beginning of the yeah beginning of the millennium, let's say like this, people were all starting to get the mobile phones and it just dive into everyday's life. And with this, the growing of antennas, I remember in my neighborhood, it people were making calls, so no antenna on top of the school, please. Let's watch for the health of our children. and But me, Interviewer: Oh, so so many people were aware in your environment and they didn't want to have the antennas back then. Jeanne Laurent: Not so many, but some people would let people know out in the streets, you know, with signing papers and... Interviewer: Oh, good. Jeanne Laurent: But it was very soft in a way. Myself, I was using internet with the... er with cable, with a line. A line with metal, not plastic. Even though I was not that much aware of all the techniques be ah at the time, but I was not using Wi-Fi, but the mobile phone could be a problem for me to be tired or headaches and those. And the burn-out were were never observed from the specialists I could see medics as linked to the wireless. Interviewer: Oh, yeah. so So when you went to a doctor or to a medical professional, nobody would link your condition with wireless radiation, right? Jeanne Laurent: I never heard this from doctors. They would call it depression, burnout, because I was working quite a lot. I was nomad and mobile. So I had this telephone in the bag or in the pocket at that time. That was 25 years ago, almost. And I could notice that when I would stop everything just to rest, and I was not getting use of internet or connections with the mobile. I have a normal life. Interviewer: Oh, look at that. Jeanne Laurent: Yes. and And it happens that after a moment in 2005, I got a very big like burnout as it was told me from doctors. Interviewer: May I hook into there? How did that burnout feel like for you? Jeanne Laurent: At that time, it was like, slowly, slowly, slowly, slowly drowning down and really being not able to... I had the smoke in the brain. Brain fog, yeah. I was just like falling all gray in life. Interviewer: So you mean you were very tired? Jeanne Laurent: No life turned out gray color. Interviewer: Oh, so it's like kind of depression or? Jeanne Laurent: Yes, yes, that was it. And me as an artist, I used to work with many colors. So it was really a switch in my way to be out in the world. Interviewer: And once you switched off your smart your your mobile phone and that was gone, you felt better. You felt different, right? Jeanne Laurent: I noticed I needed a time to recover. After 10 days, two weeks, I could just feel back to life, back to myself. Interviewer: Hey, look at that. Jeanne Laurent: So after I started to rearrange my life softly and I was very physical. So I was doing yoga and dance, traveling by bike. So this all physical activities were help me helping me a lot in health and a good mood. At home, my computer, because I used to work with internet at that time, as I do still today, always have a wire and never use wife wifi at home and switch off telephone because I use a telephone for work with a is a line. And like old fashioned, we would say it nowadays. So that was 20 years ago and I could recover good health. I also started study naturopathy and to change things in my life for good health with food, water and choose my own food. I would prefer to eat less and better. So that was 20 years ago. But if I go back now to to 2018, so almost eight years ago. I had a very active professional life and I was working a lot, also working at night, working on the projects as an artist, traveling, and I was standing in places like art galleries or university in Paris, and traveling by train and those were all together the big package just to have a fall for my immune system. After three years living in the countryside, at that time mistake was Wi-Fi in the house. I got the health really falling down Interviewer: So in 2018, you had Wi-Fi in in the house. Jeanne Laurent: Yes, in the house. And i was renting the house and I didn't get the idea. i forgot. i forgot. I had a good health, a good life, and I forgot about what I've been doing 20 years ago. But I was aware because I would switch off at night, and switch off device, and but it was not enough. The house I used to live was having bad electricity lines, Interviewer: Oh, yeah. Old installation, huh? Jeanne Laurent: Old electric installations, not connected to earth in the office, in the bedrooms, in the place where I would stand the most of the time working at home. And so you imagine it was like 12 hours a day. with bad connection for the electric wires, having Wi-Fi in the house, working. And I had a smartphone. Believe me, I happened to have a smartphone. So that made this all the package. I noticed that when I would go home out of the train from the big city, I could not drive my car. I was just, I need to rest to sleep sometimes before I could start to drive. And then I got it that, yeah, I am working and traveling in trains and in a train, in wagon, 100 people with a smartphone, with a mobile computer. All those devices just warming, heating in the wagon. We were all boiling ourselves. And so, so all those together, working, making research at university, it's Wi-Fi everywhere. Students, teachers, Wi-Fi everywhere with mobile phone and all the devices. Well, this happened that I got it to too much of it. Like my body could not take it. And one day I caught an azimuth from an antenna to a mobile device behind me. I was on the way and that's where I put the sign, stop it. Interviewer: What did that feel like? Like being between this device and the transmitter? What did it feel like in that moment? Jeanne Laurent: Horrible. It gives the sense of getting a big shock in the body. It happened to me sometimes afterwards and then I used to say to warn the people around me, I got a bullet in the head. It's like that, boom! Something comes to smash you and it's invisible. It has no sound you can hear really. And you don't see it. It has no smell. Something happened that „whack“ you get this shock. So... I was aware of other people around me getting electro-hypersensitive in towns. I was aware also because I was curious enough to ask them, hey, what is happening to you? Same as you are doing when you ask me. Interviewer: How many people do you know, like just a rough estimate, how many people do you know that have such sensitivity? Jeanne Laurent: At that time, eight years ago, I was mainly told by one person who has been diagnosed with electrohypersensitivity from Professor Dominique Belpomme in Paris, and she would not dare to talk about it. Having a public life, she was not too much talking. But I had to ask her. And when I got this shock and that after i was just down totally down I was like no energy and pain very much pain in the head. But I told you it came up the package yes the Interviewer: yeah there was the package that you were carrying around you anyway with all the Wi-Fi and everything. And then came the shock, and that gave the rest right? Jeanne Laurent: And so that was the drop on top and then I could only stop. I could only stop everything and first thing i got is to remember, hey, let's go and see the professor Dominique Belpomme to ask him and see what is this. I had to wait three months because he He was with another doctor Milbert, Beatrice Milbert, specialist in France. And we made tests, blood tests, urine tests. And then after two months later he could make diagnose for this electro hypersensitivity. Meanwhile, i just stopped everything in my house. I stopped the Wi-Fi. I'd switch off the smartphone. I was using my normal telephone line. I even switched off the fridge. And every night I turn off electricity. And that helped me a lot to go back to some homeostasis. With no impact of wireless but also electric cables because I told you my house was not with a good so electric system. I don't want to be too long in all but the symptoms when I made the list I write everything is very long. I would like to say that the symptoms sometimes ah correlate to the symptoms for the people with fibromyalgia and to the people with Lyme disease. In comparison, many symptoms they can really get in tune. Interviewer: That match, okay. Jeanne Laurent: This was very interesting to understand because as an artist, I was doing research at university. And I had to stop this after a while because I could not read, i could not write, I could not concentrate, i could not i was having this brain fog always. And it took me, I would say, about two years to get back clearness of my brain. Interviewer: Wow, so after this this shock that you had, it took two years to recover again to a state. Jeanne Laurent: The shock, which was the drop, the final drop, because I had 25 years of growing there exposure. And the body, in meanwhile, was just reducing reducing the its own ability to recover homeostasis, especially with a good sleep, because the room was very much polluted with the electric cables, with no earths. Interviewer: So what you're saying is it is a long-term effect, right? Jeanne Laurent: yes, yes, it' it's not just being into an azimuth from an antenna to a mobile device, it comes with years. So we say in French as long that the wire breaks, you see. Since that, I started my research for university, but I started new research in my life that I was researching about EMF. And that was a new world opening for understanding, knowing, and then telling about to the others. I started to do prevention sets as atelier and workshops about the subject. But what I wanted to say, I also understood that it's a global situation of the body, of the person.nWhere does the person stand in their life about how do we work, how do we live, but also how do we eat, how do we drink. And since that moment I understood that water was a problem in my life. I was drinking drinking tap water and it was not enough. I was understanding that I had pollution with heavy metals that comes from the water, from the food if it's not organic, and from the air pollution. So I want to to to add that time is passing and in 2020, that was period with COVID and confinement and all those things. I found an article mentioning four factors to damage health, human health, which were water, air, food and EMF. So i this could really confirm that we have a mixture of pollutions everywhere. And so since then, my life was really concerned about checking and take the chance to give myself the best for the water and the food and to clean my body to restore a good homeostasis, to be then stronger to resist to EMF. But I made my living place as a no-phone zone. There's no no wireless. There's now electricity connected to earth and no smartphone allowed in. Interviewer: Great. Jeanne Laurent: This helps lot. Interviewer: yeah that sounds like a healthy environment where the body can recover. Jeanne Laurent: Yes. Like this. Interviewer: And hey, that's a nice sign. Interviewer: Yep, yep. And that that looks like a healthy lifestyle right there. And now when one looks out at the public, why does your what is your analysis: Why is this not a much bigger discussion in the public, this topic? Jeanne Laurent: I would see many reasons. There's not one only. And this is now how I look at life. It's ah is not all white, all black. The public has a major difficulty to address this issue because nowadays everyone is connected. Maybe not everyone. We know we can connect another way. We can go safer. But there could be a list. First, we could tell it's so practical. Wireless devices are so practical in life. But it's difficult to understand that those wireless are a real invisible chains around the people. So addictions is growing with this. Addictions to communication, to have the feeling to be linked to the others as social media, social nets, a family, all those communication tools that in the private life are so practical to see and talk with close ones and family that live far, for instance. There's the addiction to the screens. Electricity gives a kind of energetic field growing, a kind of addiction. We are not, it's not electrocution, it is electricization, if it's correct in English. Interviewer: Yeah, you become electrified right by devices. Jeanne Laurent: Yes. and And this is growing to all our body. I would say like coffee, it gives you an excitement. Blue light gives an excitement. Light from the screens. And so addiction starts very, very early now when you see children, babies, even fetuses in the mother's belly. They got into this exposure. Exposure, yes. Every day and night. um But addiction is the only thing. Interviewer: And would you say, would you, yeah, sorry. Please continue. Jeanne Laurent: Yes, please, thank you. Just to finish, addiction is not the only thing. There is the social life and professional life that gives input to the people to use those devices. And then it gives to everyone a way of life which just disconnects the people from themselves. This I understand myself, when I got very sick, I had lost my ability to dream and to remember my dreams. I had also lost my intuition. And as an artist, i was it's my first tool is intuition. We really get linked to bigger than us, ourselves. We get linked to the living, to the nature. to the non-visible world we are sharing. And I got this time to recover my pineal gland. To recover good health for this and then get back ability to dream, remember my dream, to get concentration in work, and get back concentration also to be feeling good with myself in meditation. When the pineal gland is stretched and damaged, it's a big loss for our own self and living way. And this goes with EMF, with or from. Our pineal gland is also suffering from EMF. And this is not addiction problem. It's the effects of the exposure from wireless devices, antennas, and satellites now. And it is growing in numbers. It's really growing in numbers since the year 2020. 5G has been really expanding. I noticed in towns many small antennas for 5G that are needed to connect from short range. On the bus stops, on top of the market entrance, there are all those small antennas almost everywhere. Sometimes you don't see them, but they are. And then people can get connected. And this is a big problem. Interviewer: And would you say that regulators or you know the the health officials of France or of Germany or you know around the world, are they addressing this problem adequately? And if if not, why not? Jeanne Laurent: What I would understand from myself is that, like in France, we talk a lot more since the year 2020, 2021, about addictions to screens, putting responsibility on the persons who get addicted. But wireless exposure and EMF growing in intensity is not so much addressed. You are right. There was a a report from government in France two years ago called the children and the screens. And when you look at this report, there's not so much about EMF. Interviewer: But is there anything at all about EMF in that report? Jeanne Laurent: Very small. And the conclusions are... The conclusion like the French Agency for Radio Frequency, is moving the speech, moving back, because until not so far, it was observed even by a French radio frequency agency that EMF could maybe cause cancer. That came from OMS, OMS in French. Interviewer: Yeah, the World Health Organization, right? Which determined that yeah EMFs are potentially cancer-caused, potentially carcinogenic, right? That was the WHO. Jeanne Laurent: Yes, that‘s it. So, I have a feeling that it's going back like saying, no, it's maybe not so much cause of cancer. Like the the the main issue is put on the people and not on the exploding expansion of EMF. Interviewer: That's interesting, right? That means basically they're covering it up more and more. Jeanne Laurent: I think it's very much for powerful industries, industries for communication. telecommunications that goes also to politics. And, because using those devices is very comfortable for anyone who want to enter into your life. You have your own tool with your cameras, microphones that, anyone could go and and hack your mobile phone or your computer when you are in the Wi-Fi and and and you are you are you are you are selfie-ing yourself, you are giving yourself most of the time without being aware so much of the consentment which should really be the first rule to protect the life of the people, private life and health for a good life. So, the ah because the the issue with EMF can be observed from different focus, industries, politics, healthcare, education, and how we would need to recover our own power, take care of ourself and our health on our own and not being told what we should be doing all for our own life. For me, this is all linked, connecting together. And this is why the issue is so sometimes so overwhelming to be addressed by everyone in a simple manner because there's another also big issue is the issue of metals, not only in our bodies, like a heavy metal as a pollution, but metals as a economic war. And all the wars like in Africa, in Congo, all the wars growing to extract the metals. And this is very strong. And I'm not sure everyone is able to consider this problem that it is all linked. It's a big problem. Big. Interviewer: Yeah, good good that you mentioned that that thing with the metals. I mean, also today it's, I think, a big issue now with Iran, with Greenland, all over its natural resources. It's also the rare earths, special metals for for electronics, for, you know, that's all on the table. Everybody wants them and it's it's a big issue. Yeah. Jeanne Laurent: Yes, so it's it's extraction of the metals and all the wars that connect to this extraction. But it's also throwing away (disposal of broken electronic devices). It's all the pollution and all the waste after. So if we are not able to see and address these issues, It's much more difficult to turn off and throw the smartphones. Interviewer: Right. So we we have to wrap up soon. And I want to ask you to just two more questions. And one is that, i mean, you're active, pretty active now educating the people out there. You're active in several organizations. Can you briefly tell us what you are doing to educate the people? Jeanne Laurent: Yes, thank you, for these questions. Educating the people it's like everywhere. As an artist and an activist, very much aware of the issues with EMF, I would say everywhere I go, people can hear about it. I try not to do this like in a pressure way, but if I work in a school with pupils, I introduce also the fact that I became electro-hypersensitive and it would be nice to switch off devices in schools. And then I have tools to measure and they can show the persons, look here in the class you have the Wi-Fi, do you really need it or can you switch it off if you don't need it? And the photocopy in the classrooms that use Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and then teachers understand because I come with my own person as an artist I do workshops in in classrooms for art and then I can explain softly because if we are just talking „you should not you must not, you don't“ it doesn't work. Also, people you know who know me work with me or whom I work with and they they understand I have this issue. When I go to meetings, I ask the people to turn off devices and this is why I always show this. I have some packets in my bag and I like to show it. And to you start to check everything for a good health and good life. And when you start for yourself, You start also for your close one, your family, your colleagues. And I like when I work that we increase the consciousness of the electromagnetic risks in professional life. Every day now, people know about electric risks. You never put your fingers in the plug, okay? If you use electric tools, it needs to be plugged with earth, otherwise you have a risk for your health and life. But we need to increase the consciousness of the electromagnetic risk, because first it's a big problem for health, then it switches off the life of the people, that you cannot work the same, you cannot live the same, you get isolated from the other ones, Sometimes it smashes your professional life, your family life. And some people are getting really sick and very isolated. They're doing all the best with the very much strong people with EHS, electrohypersensivity, starting to go to live in a wildlife in a way out of the society. And before it's too late, prevention is the most important for the people who are not so much aware that they should, every everyone, do one's own part to limit this electrosmog, the pollutions, not only put it on addictions. Because EMF is not only depending on our own persons, antennas, satellites, if we all stop with this, we get really to grow a better life. 46:12.82 Jeanne Laurent: And the more we grow in consciousness, the more we get stronger. And we should not be afraid. We should not get let the fear of the impact of EMF ruin our life. We are stronger than that. 46:28.79 Interviewer: Right. And I like that that point because I think it's really a right, it has to be a basic right that you have a right to have a radiation free zone. Interviewer: That would be a great goal to achieve… Jeanne Laurent: That would be a wonderful success, but we are on the way. Interviewer: Cool. Maybe one last question from my side. Do you know Vetopedia.org? Jeanne Laurent: Yes. I'm very happy such a website exists to let the people, the ability to give testimony of their situation. And it it's a treasure to have those open, free space to communicate and talk about it. It should not be a taboo. Interviewer: Exactly. I think it's it's important. I mean, Vetopedia has several thousand people who have similar experience as you who shared their story and it's it's growing. It's growing because I think there are hundreds of thousands, probably millions who are who are experiencing it. Maybe not all have a diagnosis like you have, because many doctors don't yet aren't aware, but but the more we can make this visible, I think the more can be achieved and the more also the the doctors and politicians and you know everybody who has a bit more power to maybe change things are also forced to do something about it. And so, yeah, so thanks for everything that you've shared today with us. Thanks for the work you're doing. Are there any last words you would like to share still with the audience? Jeanne Laurent: Well, think about it that you don't need all those devices and it's good to be with really in good relation with other people in real, in direct, that we could really make this choice for peace on earth, that as we mentioned the wars also that are related to those EMF industries, If we consider we are lucky to live in a wonderful world and if we share this light and love and express this beauty of the living we make it also a good life for all the trees, the nature, all the living, the animals because we are sharing this earth. And we could pay attention to grow this good earth on a good health living spaces for all. It's not about only us human people. Let's keep growing human with all the living. Interviewer: Thanks. That was a very nice closing message. Jeanne, thanks very much for joining us, for sharing this, and have a wonderful day still. Jeanne Laurent: Thank you. Thank you, Daniel Have a good day also. Wonderful time.
