Radioonkologen sind auf Strahlentherapien spezialisiert. Hier nun der leicht gekürzte Brief unter der Überschrift "Die Strahlungssicherheit von 5G: beruhigend oder russisches Roulette?"
An den Chefredakteur:
„Der bevorstehende Ausbau der fünften Generation 5G wird als bedeutsame Verbesserung der Geschwindigkeit im Vergleich zur bisherigen kabellosen Übertragung angepriesen. 5G soll die derzeitige Technologie der vierten Generation 4G erweitern, um die globale Vernetzung zwischen Geräten zu verwirklichen.
Weniger gut untersucht sind die möglichen Folgen, die mit diesem Bedürfnis nach Schnelligkeit verbunden sind: nämlich der deutliche Anstieg der Strahlenbelastung von Lebewesen durch hochfrequente elektromagnetische Felder im Bereich von 1900-2100 MHz bei 4G gegenüber der bis zu 3500 MHz geschätzten mittleren Bandbreite bei 5G.
[…] Tierversuche haben gezeigt, dass bereits eine langfristige Strahlenbelastung bei 900-1800 MHz der zweiten Generation 2G während 48 Min./Tag für 30-180 Tage Hippocampus*-Schäden (im Endhirn) bewirkt. So hat eine kürzlich durchgeführte Untersuchung von menschlichen Zellen auch eine erhöhte Empfindlichkeit für oxidativen Stress gezeigt, das meint eine Überforderung der Reparatur- und Entgiftungsfunktion einer Zelle. […]
Angesichts der anzunehmenden Verdoppelung der Strahlenbelastung durch 5G hat eine weltweite Vereinigung von Ärzten und Wissenschaftlern aus Sorge um die Strahlungssicherheit ein Moratorium (das meint einen Aufschub) für die Einführung von 5G empfohlen, bis weitere Sicherheitsuntersuchungen durchgeführt worden sind.
Welche Rolle spielt die medizinische Gemeinschaft (insbesondere die Radioonkologie) in diesem Bereich? Sollen wir schweigen oder sollen wir uns nur auf die verbesserte Pflege unserer geschädigten Patienten konzentrieren? Oder tragen wir eine Verantwortung, unsere medizinischen Kenntnisse über Strahlensicherheit und Strahlenwirksamkeit weiterzugeben, um zu verhindern, dass die Stärke der Strahlenbelastung durch kabellose Technologien vor allem vom Gewinn der Unternehmen bestimmt wird?“
