So ist auch der „Sprachleitfaden“ der UN-Organisation „UN-Women“, der eine „gender-kompatible Sprachwahl“ vorschlägt, ein Highlight der „Gibt-es-keine-wichtigeren-Projekte“-Liste.

Darunter wird ein Sprachgebrauch verstanden, der darauf abzielt, die Gleichstellung der Geschlechter zum Ausdruck zu bringen. Mithilfe eines Sprachleitfadens erklärt UN Women, welche Wörter deshalb aus dem Sprachgebrauch zu entfernen seien. Anstelle von „Freund und Freundin“, soll vom „Partner“ gesprochen werden. „Feuerwehrmann und -frau“ seien durch „Feuerwehrleute“ zu ersetzen.
Doch da stellt sich die Frage: Könnte das stolze Budget von jährlich 334 Millionen US-Dollar, so der Stand von 2016, nicht für dringendere Projekte eingesetzt werden? An sinnvollen Tätigkeiten würde es sicher nicht mangeln, werden doch in vielen Ländern Frauen als Menschen zweiter Klasse behandelt. Auch Sklaverei ist vor allem in Afrika und Asien immer noch verbreitet. Wirkt angesichts dieser realen Probleme diese UN-Women-Gender-Aktion nicht befremdlich? Ohne einen nachhaltigen Nutzen zu erzeugen, werden mit diesem Gender-Sprachleitfaden nicht nur hart verdiente Steuergelder verschwendet, auch werden die geschlechter-spezifischen, vor allem die sich ergänzenden Fähigkeiten von Mann und Frau, völlig ausgeblendet. Ist Teamwork zwischen Mann und Frau heute nicht mehr gefragt?
