Is vaccination against Covid-19 useful and necessary? Statement by professor Dr. Bhakdi
Since April 2020, it has been clear that a huge vaccination program is planned in connection with Covid-19. The German government has already ordered large quantities of vaccine doses as a precautionary measure. In the face of controversial information on this, important questions come up. In light of these questions, German specialist in microbiology and infection epidemiology, Prof. Dr. Sucharit Bhakdi, addressed the topic of "Immunity and Vaccination", giving a presentation on the subject. Professor Bhakdi stands out due to his professional competence, which he always tries to make accessible to the citizens in simple explanations. This is not always completely successful due to the complex nature of the subject. Nevertheless everyone can easily make the necessary deductions from Bhakdi's explanations, even where it is not so easy to understand. In any case the lecture can be a decision making aid for the question: "Is vaccination against Covid-19 useful and necessary?
