Sau trận lũ lụt tàn khốc ở bang Texas, Hoa Kỳ, Dân biểu Greene của bang Georgia đã công bố một sáng kiến lập pháp mới nhằm cấm việc thao túng thời tiết và kỹ thuật địa kỹ thuật. Dự luật của bà dự kiến sẽ tương tự như Dự luật 56 của Thượng viện Florida, được thông qua vào cuối tháng 6 năm 2025.

Sau thảm họa lũ lụt tàn khốc ở tiểu bang Texas của Hoa Kỳ, Đại diện Hoa Kỳ Marjorie Taylor Greene từ Georgia đã công bố sáng kiến lập pháp mới vào ngày 5 tháng 7 năm 2025: “Chúng ta phải chấm dứt hoạt động biến đổi thời tiết và kỹ thuật địa kỹ thuật nguy hiểm và chết người. […] Tôi đang trình dự luật cấm việc đưa, thải hoặc phân phối hóa chất hoặc chất vào khí quyển để thay đổi thời tiết, nhiệt độ, khí hậu hoặc cường độ ánh sáng mặt trời”, nữ nghị sĩ phát biểu tại Diễn đàn X. Và hơn thế nữa: "Đây sẽ là một hành vi phạm tội." Bà cũng viết rằng dự thảo của bà sẽ tương tự như dự luật 56 của Thượng viện Florida. Dự luật này đã có hiệu lực từ ngày 1 tháng 7 năm 2025 và cấm thay đổi thời tiết hoặc sử dụng các kỹ thuật địa kỹ thuật với mức phạt 100.000 đô la.
