Không có AI cho hệ thống vũ khí - đó là những gì Google đã hứa cho đến nay. Đầu tháng 2 năm 2025, giới truyền thông đưa tin Google đã phá vỡ lời hứa “không phát triển hệ thống vũ khí AI [trí tuệ nhân tạo]”. Công ty đã "áp đặt" các quy tắc đạo đức cho chính mình vào năm 2018. Tuy nhiên, điều này chỉ xảy ra khi có sự phản đối mạnh mẽ từ phía lực lượng lao động của Google đối với sự tham gia của công ty vào vũ khí AI. Hàng ngàn nhân viên của Google đã ký vào bản kiến nghị vào thời điểm đó và hàng chục người đã từ chức để phản đối. Các giám đốc điều hành của công ty biện minh cho "sự thay đổi hướng đi mới" này hướng tới hệ thống vũ khí AI, trong số những lý do khác, là sự tiến bộ nhanh chóng trong quá trình phát triển công nghệ.
